Rescue dogs can play a vital role in finding victims in a disaster situation.
The search for missing persons with dogs is the working area of the
Stichting Inzet reddingshond Nederland (S.I.N.).  We are a disaster relief organization, which operates with rescue dogs on a national and on an international scale. The S.I.N. is an organization that will offer assistance to anyone in the search and rescue of missing persons.
We are specialized in the search for living persons under rubble after gas explosions, and earthquakes. We are also specialized in the search  of missing persons in area and water. On National level S.I.N. is operating together with the KLPD (national police) local police, the fire department and on international scale we work together with the authorities in charge.

The Stichting Inzet reddingshond Nederland was founded in 1992 by request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a national relief organisation. It is a national organisation which selects and certifies dogs that are send  into mission. The dogs selected by the S.I.N. are certified according international standards.

The Stichting Inzet reddingshond Nederland  is officially recommended by Ministry of Internal Affairs in a  national communiqué with number EB94/849.

The S.I.N.is also a member of IRO (International Rescue Dog Organisation) .  The mission logistics is compatible with the guidelines of  INSARAG (International Search and Rescue Advisory Group).

The S.I.N. selected dogs are trained according the latest standard of science, this means that we have dogs that are specialized to do one or at most two jobs properly! As a consequence of this the dogs can work with highest possible level of reliability.
The available dogs are trained to search for living persons or are trained to do cadaver search. When we are asked for assistance we always tell very clearly what the possibilities of our dogs are.
The Stichting Inzet reddingshond Nederland  is a non-profit organisation.
